Blaisdell Center

August 27, 2022

SPOCOM Hawaii Presented by Napa Import Auto Parts finally returned to the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall & Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii after a two-year hiatus (that’s three years since the last event) due to the global Covid pandemic.  Hawaii is SpoCom’s second home and the excitement in the air was infectious, in a good way, lol.  With over 200+ vehicles battling for the coveted SPOCOM sword, competition in Hawaii was as fierce as ever.  The ticket lines to get in spanned around the building and back and continued throughout most of the night.

As enthusiastic automotive fans entered the building, they were greeted by an assortment of amazing builds from classic JDM examples, exotics, & trucks, to a plethora of current vehicles on the market.  Alongside these mouth-watering masterpieces, there was an assortment of vendors showcasing various aftermarket parts and goodies available for all to see, get some hands-on information, and purchase on the spot.

If all that wasn’t enough to enjoy, there was also the model lounge and go-go dancers on stage filled with some of your favorite import models from around the nation.  Headlining the event was Marie Madore, Victoria Nguyen, Cici, Akira Win, Daisy Doan, Tamiko Lee, Jamie Luna, Sere, and let’s not forget the hostess with the mostest MC Lauren Lala.  Fans gathered around in lines to meet their favorite model while getting to chat a bit, take photos, and support by buying some merchandise ranging from prints and posters to stickers, clothing, mugs, and keychains.

Some heavy hitters came out with their car clubs Team Mansu, SMG, & Drag Tech Racing with SMG taking home the “Best Team” award.  SMG teammate Christopher Calimlim won the coveted “Best of Show” award with his 1998 JZA80 Toyota Supra dressed head to toe in carbon fiber goodies from Seibon, APR, LWS, Top Secret, and a Ridox Replicated Carbon kit by Shine Auto Project and sporting a built single turbo 2JZ engine.  Check out all the awesome builds and show coverage below!
