2018 Automobility LA (LA Auto Show)

2018 Automobility LA (LA Auto Show)
Los Angeles Convention Center
November 30 – December 9, 2018

There is a reason why this show is one of the largest in the world.  People in Southern California love their cars since it represents their lifestyle as well as home since we spend so much time in them due to our horrible traffic.  Car culture in this town runs deep and all of these new vehicles opens up a whole new possibility to those who want to later customize them.

As is their yearly tradition, media week started with yet another amazing kick-off party.  This year’s theme was, 7 Deadly Sins.  It was a fantastic event of great food, entertainment and most importantly, a well stocked open bar.
Trends at the show include variants on a theme.  And that theme were SUVs.  It looks like the American’s ride of choice is an SUV, crossover or something in between.  Electric vehicles were another highlight of the show as more and more manufacturers prepare for the future electrification of the automobile.
The Porsche press conference was well attended but what garnered a lot of buzz was Jeep’s new truck, the Gladiator.  Jeeps were extremely popular as was noticed at this year’s SEMA Show, and I can only predict more modified Jeep Gladiators on the horizon.
The show runs until next weekend, so come on by and check out the show.  And if you have kids that like Transformers, make sure to get some pictures with the life size Bumblebee at the West Hall lobby.
